Cricket is a team sport, but if we talk about individual achievements, our country’s cricketers are now dominating the ICC points tables. In almost every department, Indian players are at the top of the rankings. Apart from this, the Indian cricket team is also at the top of both the ODI and T20 points tables.
No.1 T20 Bowler:-
Today, mystery spin bowler Varun Chakravarthy has become the number one player in the ICC T20 bowlers’ rankings. Born in Karnataka, the journey of this spin sensation has been truly inspiring. There was a time when, after Team India’s poor performance in the 2021 T20 World Cup, he was heavily trolled on social media because Varun failed to take a single wicket in three matches. But since his comeback in October 2024, he hasn’t looked back. So far, Varun has taken 33 wickets in 18 matches, with his best bowling figures being 5 wickets for 17 runs. His bowling average and economy rate are also outstanding. In T20s, his bowling average is 14.57, while his economy rate stands at 7.02. In the IPL, he plays for KKR and is one of the most important players in the team. KKR’s bowling department largely depends on Narine and Varun. With Narine nearing retirement, in the coming days the responsibility of KKR’s bowling department will rest heavily on Varun.
Dominance of Indian Cricketers:
In international cricket, not only Team India but individual Indian cricketers are also continuing their dominance. Proof of this can be seen in the ICC points tables, where Indian players are shining at the top of the rankings. In the latest ICC points table, Team India holds the number one spot in both ODI and T20 formats. India’s new Test captain, Shubman Gill, is ranked as the number one ODI batter. Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma holds the number one ranking in T20 batting. Pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah is the number one Test bowler, while in T20 bowling, Varun Chakravarthy holds the top spot. Ravindra Jadeja is not far behind, he is ranked the number one Test all-rounder, while in T20s, Hardik Pandya is the number one all-rounder. Just yesterday, Mohammad Siraj won the ICC Player of the Month award for August-2025.
At present, the Indian cricket team is in Dubai, where the Asia Cup 2025 is being played in the T20 format. After this, Team India will play a two-Test series against West Indies, starting from October 2.
