A case of an attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has come to light in the capital, Delhi. It has been reported that during a public hearing at the Chief Minister's office located in Civil Lines, an person carried out the attack. The accused has been identified as Rajesh Bhai Khimji from Gujarat. 

Confirming the attack, the Delhi CM Office released a statement saying, “During today’s public hearing, an individual attacked Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. He has been apprehended by Delhi Police and is currently being interrogated.

According to media reports, the accused identified himself as Rajeshbhai Khimjibhai Sakariya (41), a resident of Rajkot, Gujarat.

However, Delhi BJP President Virendra Saxena said, “The accused grabbed the CM’s hand and pulled her. She hit the corner of a table and sustained a head injury. The claim about a slap is incorrect.”

Meanwhile, after the incident, Delhi’s Chief Secretary and several ministers visited CM House to check on Rekha Gupta’s condition. She is currently receiving treatment there.

A team of doctors is examining Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. She is out of danger. According to sources in the Delhi government, public hearings will continue, but the approach will be changed. People will no longer be able to reach directly close to the CM with their complaints. Cabinet ministers Kapil Mishra and Manjinder Singh Sirsa have called the attack on the Chief Minister a political conspiracy.
