Mark William Calaway (born March 24, 1965), better known by his legendary ring name The Undertaker, is a retired American professional wrestler who is widely regarded as one of the greatest performers in the history of professional wrestling. Best known for his tenure with WWE, where he spent over three decades, The Undertaker became one of the most iconic and enduring figures in the sport.

Early Life and Education

Born in Houston, Texas, to Frank Compton Calaway and Betty Catherine Truby, Mark Calaway is the youngest of five brothers. He attended Waltrip High School, where he excelled in both football and basketball. After graduating in 1983, he received a basketball scholarship to attend Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas. The Undertaker's supernatural gimmick earned him the Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Best Gimmick Award for a record five consecutive years. In 2000, he briefly reinvented his character as a biker under the nickname "The American Badass," showcasing a different, more grounded side of his persona. Despite various character evolutions, The Undertaker remained a top attraction in WWE for over three decades.
