Bumrah calls out Kaif's 'inaccurate' remark on X. Discover what led to the pacer's sharp response!

India has already qualified for the Asia Cup 2025 Final after defeating Bangladesh, but after the match, a difference of opinion between two cricket legends surfaced on social media platform ‘X’. This has become a topic of discussion for both the media and fans. Let’s understand the full story.

X WAR:

On 24th September, after the India vs Bangladesh match, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif shared a post on ‘X’ in which he wrote:

"Bumrah under Rohit would generally bowl overs 1, 13, 17, 19. Under Surya, in Asia cup, he bowled a three-overs spell at the start. To avoid injury, Bumrah these days, prefers to bowl while his body is warmed up. 1 over of Bumrah in the remaining 14 overs is a huge relief for batters, against stronger teams at World Cup, this could hurt india".

After this post, Jasprit Bumrah quoted Kaif’s tweet and responded:

 “Inaccurate before, Inaccurate again.”

This clearly showed that Bumrah did not like Kaif’s post and disagreed with his observations. Following that, today again, Kaif quoted Bumrah’s post and replied:

"Please take this as a  cricketing observation from a well-wisher and an admirer. You are Indian cricket's biggest match-winner and I know what it takes to give it all when on field wearing India colours."

After all this, fans seem divided, some are supporting Kaif, while others are standing with Bumrah. Such things are common on social media. However, both Kaif and Bumrah could have handled this situation differently or avoided it altogether.

Kaif should have made it clear from the beginning that it was simply a cricketing observation. After all, it’s also possible that:

In Dubai conditions, spinners are getting more success, so they might be bowling even in the death overs.

Or perhaps the captain wants Bumrah to bowl early and take quick wickets to build pressure.

Or the team management may revert to the earlier pattern in upcoming matches or tournaments.

Similarly, Bumrah could have responded to Kaif’s post in a better tone. He surely knows that Kaif is not a troll. If Kaif made such a statement, Bumrah could have either spoken to him directly or responded more gently on ‘X’.

We cannot forget Kaif’s contribution to Indian cricket especially his role in transforming India’s fielding standards. He was even called India’s Jonty Rhodes. Currently, Kaif works as a commentator.

Anyway, we hope this matter does not escalate further.

Today, India will face Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup. The Final will be played on Sunday, 28th September, between India and Pakistan.

Thank You.
